Tent City in Lakewood, New Jersey, has been a temporary, makeshift settlement for many homeless people.

This Tent City is a "living demonstration of what the economy is doing to people," said the founder of this place.

A lawsuit in 2011 between the Tent City residents and the Lakewood City, where this tent city is located, generated national media publicity for this makeshift village.

The Lakewood City seeks to close the site and evict the residents; whereas the Tent City residents counter-claim that the city has not provided adequate support for homeless people.

A judge has ruled that the homeless of tent city be allowed to stay put -- at least temporarily. The judge asked Lakewood Township representatives and Brigham to come up with a solution to the standoff over the encampment.
